(Paraśurāma prays to Śrī Rāma -)
O Rāma, Rāma of mighty arms, I did not know you to be the eternal supreme-soul. Today only I knew you by means of your virtues like valour, etc.॥1॥
You are actually the first, highest soul. You are the Para-(highest) Brahman. You are the highest, the immutable one. You are Ananta (the endless one), Mahā-Viṣṇu, and Parātpar-Vāsudeva (higher than the highest, supreme-being). ॥2॥
You are Nārāyaṇa. You are the lord of Śrī. You are full (original source) of the three (Vedas). You are the Kāla (the Time or Death). You are the entire world. And, You yourself are the one called 'A' (the sound 'a'). ॥3॥
You are the creator, the supporter and the destroyer. You are the highest lord (Parameśvara). You are inconceivable; you are of the form of a great being; you are a great hymn. ॥4॥
You are the Purushottama (highest being) having four, six, five qualities. You are the Yajña (sacrifice). You are the Vaṣaṭkāra (Vaidic exclamation uttered while making an oblation). You are the 'Oṃ' consisting of the three (Vedas). ॥5॥
You are of a manifest (Vyakta) and an unmanifest (Avyakta) form. You possess qualities (Saguṇa). You are beyond the qualities (Nirguṇa) and the highest one. I am unable to praise you the one who is beyond the scope of even the Vedas. ॥6॥
Whatever rash behavior I shown towards You, O Lord, You should forgive me for that by Your causeless mercy (Your gracious nature).॥7॥
Through Your power (grace) only, I conquered all the Kings and given the earth to the brāhmaṇas, and By Your mercy only, I obtain the highest peace.
