Where would I go leaving your lotus-feet, O' Rama? Who [else] has the name "the purier of the fallen ones"? (Alternately, the name of who [else] puries the fallen ones?) [1] Which [other] deity, for the sake of his own glory and pledge, has again and again forcibly (gratuitously) redeemed the vilest [of beings]? Which deity uplifted the bird (Jatayu), the animals (monkeys and bears), the hunter (Valmki), the rock (Ahalya), the inanimate trees (Lord Shri Rama brought everyone be it animate or animate in supreme heaven) and the Yavana (Kalayavana)?[2] Deities, demons, sages, serpents and humans are all helpless under the control of Maya. O Lord! What will Tulasidasa do losing (surrendering) himself to their hands?[3] |
